My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
To find a business partner who is an innovative technologist. The goals of Sanctuary and Eden are connected to personalized self-care strategies and having a technology component is critical to serving the needs of the clients in an efficient and easy to access way.
Actions I’ve taken so far
I've created a business plan, set up the operations of the company and defined the services. I've also created a website and am poised to begin using social media for engagement with those who are interested in wellness.
My future goals
After services are established and the business is running I would like to develop product lines that serve the needs of the clients. The company will grow based on design thinking methodologies and will route business decisions back to the needs of the client.
I am also currently writing a book titled "The Unified Theory of Wellness" which covers the eight areas in depth and provides opportunities for readers to begin to road map their way forward.
My motivations to work with a mentor
My entire life has been enriched by teachers. I look to people from all walks of life and all generations for wisdom and I believe in the great power of collaboration. Not only do I hope to gain wisdom from a mentor I also hope to enrich their lives as well.
About my venture
Sanctuary & Eden Started 2021
Sanctuary and Eden offers services designed to enhance the well-being of individuals and organizations. The services currently offered are 1:1 coaching sessions, various wellness workshops for individuals and organizations, and live events.
There are eight areas of wellness that combine to create our sense of well-being. On a scale of 1-10 rarely are we reaching a 10 in all eight categories which are: physical, emotional, environmental, relational, spiritual, occupational, financial and intellectual. Sanctuary and Eden considers all of the these areas and helps people to identify where they currently are, where they would like to be and the path to get there.
The wellness industry alone is a 4.5 trillion dollar industry, growing at 5.8% annually. The data on how to become healthy is voluminous and often contradictory or overwhelming. For example despite all of the fitness opportunities and weight management plans available, 73.6% of the U.S. population is considered to be overweight or have obesity according the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The population is already overwhelmed and though many people want to achieve wellness it's not easy to sift through all of the information to get there. Sanctuary and Eden will distill the data and listen to the needs of each individual client to create a personalized self-care plan.
Covid-19 has affected humanity in severe ways. We have yet to fully assess the outcomes of the pandemic on well-being. We know already that there has been significant trauma for people who have been affected by the pandemic. Empowering people with the tools they need to achieve well-being can help accelerate a healthier population and can better prepare people for any future challenges.
The goal of Sanctuary and Eden is yoked to the goals of our clients.
