What I need help with
My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
Finances (taxes mainly, planning secondary). Business planning (what to chase, what to work on next, better ways of evaluating opportunities, et cetera). Marketing (in full). Employees (haven't hired any but am running into limitations, so need to think this aspect through).
Actions I’ve taken so far
I've built my company from the ground up. All the legal documents, registrations, books, et cetera. My company was profitable during it's first year and continues to grow at a very healthy rate. My other businesses, in which I'm invested into at various rates, are all profitable as well (many were not when I joined them). I love getting involved, helping out and improving on my business. Actions I have taken can be improved, actions I have yet to take can be sculpted still.
My future goals
Working to gain confidence, financial stability (know how), build better systems around areas I struggle, et cetera. On a personal side, I have a lot of goals around my physical health, achieving a large dream/hobby pinnacle (large purchase), and to further my knowledge. I'm always looking for more ventures to get into, more revenue streams, more ways to get involve and to give back.
My motivations to work with a mentor
I have been homeless and on my own most of my life. I have been self-taught in all that I currently do. Most of my "successful" (in my eyes) friends have mentors. I'd also like to level up so I too can mentor others, giving what I never had but would have benefitted so heavily if I did. We all have room for growth, in which a good mentor can help you stay motivated, help hold you accountable in areas you struggle, help advise in many manners, et cetera. As I grow, I hope they grow and I'm able to give back - Directly to my mentor or to others through being a mentor.
About my venture
Ascending IT, Inc. Started 2020
Ascending IT, Inc. is a information technology consulting company. Other services include project management, program management, business consulting, process consulting, et cetera. Business was started after my wife and I both lost our jobs within 1 hour of each other on Friday the 13th, March, 2020. The venture has been profitable since year 1, has had tremendous growth, has worked with Fortune 500 clients and many household names beyond that. I'm fortunate enough that I was laid off due to COVID, as it pushed me to start my business - Even though I, at the time, barely knew what to do.
Countries of operation: United States of America
How I can help
My professional background
I've built multiple 6 figure careers from being an entertainer (YouTube), business consulting, and my active, primary profession is around technology consulting. Started out as an unpaid intern and have now run a successful, profitable IT consulting business launched at the start of COVID. Now I am invested into or run more than a handful of companies, all of which are profitable and doing well.
How to work with me
What I can offer
I've got a long ways to go, however I've done mentorships as a life coach and a professional coach for those looking to build their career, better themselves, et cetera. I've invested into over a dozen businesses of different types, industries, et cetera and am always happy to brainstorm, assist in any way I can, et cetera. I'd also want to create a safe place for entrepreneurs to open up, without concern of judgement. Come have a heartfelt, honest conversation about where you're at, where you're going, et cetera and let me see how/where I may be able to help you. If I can't help you, I'll be honest with you on my limitations and thoughts on that. Always happy to brainstorm, to help give feedback, et cetera where I can.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
Honesty, willingness to learn. Without both of these, a mentorship will fail. With just those, huge progress can be made. Mentorships might be more heavily swayed in one direction than the other, however I hope to learn from anyone I mentor all the same - As such, I'll bring those same properties from my end.
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
It's great to have an idea of your goals, finances (budgets, personal and professional), a résumé, et cetera along those lines. Next would be a list of questions, which can be vague or specific.
