How I can help
My professional background
I served in the RAF for 13 years and then moved into IT Management, where I have continued to this day. I have been a part of startups developing IT strategy and building out infrastructure. From those days I have held management roles in Application support, operations and Service Delivery. This has been across the Software, Pharma research and finance industries (Retail/Investment banking & Insurance). I have gathered a great deal of experience that I am willing to share and hopefully help others mitigate some of the pitfalls that I have experienced.
How to work with me
What I can offer
A wide range of experience across a number of industries. The majority of my experience in in the IT realm, designing and implementing processes and utilising Continual Service Improvements to better align to business requirements. I also have over 20 years of experience managing and developing high performing virtual and physical teams in India, US, NZ, UK and Ireland. Hopefully there is some great experience that a prospective mentee and learn from and avoid some of the pitfalls that exist.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
I would expect that anyone that is looking for mentoring would be doing so with a good level of English and clear goals of what they would like to achieve. I like to prepare information for discussion and so any topics should be shared prior to sessions, so as to get the best value from our time together. The sessions should be two way and there would be confidentiality expected for anything discussed between us. The key to a good mentoring relationship is honesty and an open attitude to new ideas or approaches.
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
Gather their thoughts, note down clear goals and expectations for the sessions and if possible share questions prior to sessions to increase the value of the time together.
