Put your financial challenges aside for a moment. People need to hear your music and lyrics... so let them. Share your music everywhere you go: on the street, at social gatherings, online - anywhere and everywhere. All of these are free - no financials required. This is your way of advertising your skills. Next explore playing for free/small payments at local establishments such as bars, restaurants, parties. By continueing to take small steps you will advertise your skills, enhance them and word will get out about your talent.

You Tube, Tik Tok--you need to put your music on line--then you need to share to Instagram, Facebook and Linked In--Ask people to review your music--be prepared for some ugly comments. Social media is the way to go.

Hi Akera -  In between your gigs, here is something else that may help get your music out there.

Step #1: There is a PodCast called Sound Opinions, https://www.soundopinions.org/  (hosted by a radio station, WBEZ in Chicago, Illinois, USA) The podcast is available worldwide via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocketcasts, Twitcher, etc. WBEZ is interested in new musicians especially those with an African beat.  Listen to the Podcast to see what they are looking for.

Step #2: Upload your songs to a hosting site such as Youtube, Bandcamp, Spotify, Soundcloud etc.

Step #3:  Email one of the folks from SoundOpinions (below) the link to your song you just uploaded.  If they like it they will be in touch.  That should get you some exposure in the US.

Step #4: Do likewise for other countries.  I'm sure the UK has something similar.

Hosts :   Greg Kot - http://gregkot.com/contact.html Jim DeRogatis – jimdero@jimdero.com

Producers: Brendan Banaszak – brendan@sounopinions.org (Executive Producer) Alex Claiborne  - alex@soundopinions.org Ayana Contreras – ayana@soundopinions.org Andy Gill – andrew@soundopinions.org

Hope that helps, Laura Crawford
