I am thinking about having a mentor for a while but not successful. Can you help me to find one.

I need to get feed back of the work that I do. I have not got a genuine feed back so far. Even I publish my survey forms on social media pages I never get a reply. I think that I am doing something wrong.

Hello Vathani,

Use the mentor search -- https://www.micromentor.org/mentors -- to browse the mentors and look at their profile pages, and see which ones have the experience you think would be most helpful to you. Then, send them a message by clicking on the CONTACT button in their profile to introduce yourself. Be sure to tell them exactly what you feel you need help with, and let them know why you thought they would be a good mentor for you. It's also a good idea to reach out to several different mentors, to help increase your chances of connecting with one.

Who you pick to be your mentor depends on your needs and preferences. There is no definite answer. But here are a couple of questions for you to consider:

  • What is the business challenge you're facing? ------------> you can search for mentors with specific skills by using filters on the mentor search page.

  • Is your challenge answerable by posting a public question like this? -----------> maybe you want to do that if you just want a quick answer.

  • What kind of mentoring relationship are you looking for? ----------> You'll find different mentors to be valuable based on your needs: short term, long term; specific technical question like marketing, or broader strategic question like business planning

Finally, start the conversation and see if and how you want to develop a relationship with them.
