Hi Mabel, can you expand a little more? How is your business setup today. How do you market for your clients? And what are some of the hurdle or challenges?

Thank u Mr. Jayneel, currently I'm a home based baker. I bake from home & do deliveries to peoples homes. I use social media to advertise my work & in that way I get clients too.

Hi Mabel, thank you for providing further information. Let me start by saying that your business sounds absolutely wonderful. Congrats on taking the entrepreneurial leap! Do you do anything to market your business today? What do you feel has worked and what hasn't? Also, is your goal to only serve your community or are you looking to market and expand beyond? Here are just a few things to get started.

  • A chalkboard sign in front of your establishment to advertise your products, specials, etc.
  • Attend local community events with your baked goods for a bake-sale. Also think about what can go with your baked goods. For e.g if you plan a baked good sale for sometime early in the morning, have coffee to go along with it. Think of a complete "experience" for your customers rather than just "products."
  • If you are looking to advertise beyond your community look at larger marketing distribution such as newspaper, fliers, etc.
  • You can also look at social media strategy by creating an Instagram account and slowly getting people to follow you. Post pictures of your baked goods and encourage your customers to do the same with your bought products. Use hashtags (#) so that your images get linked with a higher community and conversations that follow the same theme. For e.g. #bakedgoods, etc.

Little more information from you regarding your goals will also help refine the list above. Happy to connect with you directly to continue the conversation. I hope this helps!
